Exclusive: Celtic line up Miguel Chaiwa move after Arne Engels and Nottingham Forest latest
Celtic are considering a move for Hibs midfielder Miguel Chaiwa if Arne Engels moves to Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has been regularly linked away from Hibs this winter window, and now the Hoops could make a move for the Zambia international.
This comes amid growing interest from Nottingham Forest for Arne Engels, who have put in an increased £25million bid for the Celtic star on deadline day.
As a result, their resolve in keeping their record signing could be tested, which has led to the interest in Chaiwa, who has made 19 appearances for Hibs this season and has netted two goals.

How good is Miguel Chaiwa?
According to Fotmob on 2 February, Chaiwa is an excellent midfielder in terms of his possession and defensive qualities.
Chaiwa joined Hibs from Young Boys in the summer and has already made a big impression in the Scottish Premiership.
Per 90 minutes, he is averaging 0.97 successful dribbles, 6.66 duels won, 1.45 aerial duels won and 1.57 interceptions.
On top of this, he is also able to get among the goals, averaging 0.12 per match in the Scottish Premiership this season.
With Celtic’s defence proving to be leaky multiple times this season, the addition of Chaiwa may help to plug this hole.
| Miguel Chaiwa’s Scottish Premiership stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Successful dribbles | 0.97 |
| Duels won | 6.66 |
| Aerial duels won | 1.45 |
| Interceptions | 1.57 |
| Goals | 0.12 |
However, it remains to be seen if the Hoops make a move for the Hibs star before the 11pm deadline on Monday.
What business could Celtic still complete before the winter window closes?
As it stands, Celtic are on the verge of signing Joel Mvuka and Junior Adamu.
The duo are set to join from Lorient and Freiburg, and are currently undergoing medicals ahead of a move.
With Celtic looking to reclaim their spot at the summit of the Scottish Premiership, Martin O’Neill will be hopeful that these two additions can improve their chances of winning the title.
However, it remains to be seen if Engels will still be a Hoops player by 11pm on Monday, as Forest await the outcome of their bid for the midfielder.
Nevertheless, O’Neill will be aiming to have an improved squad by 3 February, with the Hoops having multiple key fixtures on the horizon.
