Celtic target Andraz Sporar is set to sign for Sporting Lisbon today after agreeing personal terms, Football Insider can reveal.
The Hoops have held talks this month with Sporar and his club Slovan Bratislava as they set sights on multiple striker targets.
A Portugese source has told Football Insider that Sporting have now won the race for Sporar and he is set to put pen to paper on the transfer later today.
In addition to Celtic, Turkish outfit Besiktas were in the frame to land the 25-year-old in this window.
But the player is now heading to Portugal in a deal that is expected to cost around £5million.
Celtic have already completed a striker signing of their own this month, with Polish forward Patryk Klimala arriving last week in a £3.5m deal.
He made his debut in last weekend’s Scottish Cup win against Partick Thistle and is set to provide competition up front for senior pair Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.
Manager Neil Lennon has also revealed the Glasgow giants are closing in on a deal to sign midfielder Ismaila Soro.
Sporar has been in high demand after scoring 20 times already for Bratislava this season, including seven goals in the Europa League.
He has an impressive pedigree, with 19 Slovenia caps as well as a sensational record of 60 goals from 78 matches for Bratislava.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that the club have slapped a £12m price tag on player as English giants work on signing him by next week.
