Exclusive: Charlton Athletic respond to £250,000 Derby County bid for Corey Blackett-Taylor

Derby County have had a bid for Charlton Athletic winger Corey Blackett-Taylor rejected, sources have told Football Insider.

Blackett-Taylor is entering the final six months of his contract at The Valley and Derby are keen to sign him this month.

However, Charlton have turned down Derby’s £250,000 offer for Blackett-Taylor and insisted he is not for sale.

Charlton

The 26-year-old has been a stand-out performer for Charlton so far this season with nine goals and seven assists in 28 games across all competitions.

The Rams are looking to add more firepower and creativity to their squad to aid their promotion push in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

Derby currently sit fourth in the League One table after 25 matches and are just four points off league leaders Portsmouth.

Blackett-Taylor came through the ranks at Aston Villa and was highly regarded by Villa’s staff during his time in the academy and senior setup.

He made just two first-team appearances at Villa before leaving to join Tranmere Rovers in 2019.

He signed a two-year deal at Prenton Park and went on to make 62 appearances for the club – scoring and assisting eight times.

Blackett-Taylor then signed for Charlton in 2021 on an initial six-month deal, but his superb form for the Addicks earned him a contract extension.

During his time at the League One club, he has made 97 appearances across all competitions and scored 20 times.
