Exclusive: Chelsea offer two stars in sensational Morgan Rogers swap deal

Chelsea have offered two stars in a cash-plus-players exchange bid for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blues are now ramping up their bid to sign the playmaker, who is their top target for the remainder of the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa are resisting interest in Rogers from Chelsea as well as a number of other Premier League rivals, and have made it clear the 23-year-old is not for sale.

However, that has not put off Chelsea, who are believed to have offered Nicolas Jackson and Tosin Adarabioyo as well as a cash sum to Villa in part-exchange for their star man.

The Midlands giants value Rogers at over £100million and are very reluctant to let him go.

Football Insider revealed on 8 July that Villa are “desperate” to keep Rogers despite the potential financial benefits of his sale in their current situation.

Both Jackson and Tosin have attracted interest from Villa this summer, and there is a feeling at Stamford Bridge that they could be tempted to accept the swap deal.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 30 June that Emery is pushing for Villa to sign Jackson and preliminary talks have already begun as he looks to bolster his attack.

Sources say the boss is a big fan of Jackson and sees him as having the potential to develop into an elite Premier League forward with the right guidance.

Tosin, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour under Enzo Maresca but still has admirers across the Premier League amid interest from the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace.

While the offer may prove tempting, Villa remain extremely reluctant to let Rogers leave and have previously insisted he is not for sale despite interest from Man City and Arsenal.

Enzo Maresca launches fire sale at Stamford Bridge

Alongside their continued efforts to strengthen Maresca’s squad this summer, Chelsea are also aiming to shift a number of their fringe players.

Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Chelsea are launching a fire sale at Stamford Bridge as they plan to cash in on players before bringing more in.

The likes of Jackson and Tosin are expected to be available alongside a number of out-of-favour players under Maresca as they approach the start of the new season.

The Blues are currently under UEFA sanctions, and must balance out their transfer outlay with player sales to register new signings for the Champions League.
