PSV Eindhoven are planning to make a new move for Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt in the summer after having two bids rejected in January, Football Insider can reveal.
The Dutch big hitters submitted an initial offer for the left-back worth £4.2million before following up with a second rising to a potential £7.6m.
A Dutch source has told Football Insider that PSV still have Van Aanholt in their sights as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his Palace contract.
They are set to table a new offer for the 29-year-old as they look to take advantage of his contract situation.
Palace are keen to keep hold of a player they signed from Sunderland in January 2017 for around £9.5million.
Manager Roy Hodgson is a big admirer of Van Aanholt, who has been the first choice left-back for most of his Selhurst Park reign.
He has started 22 of the club’s 29 league matches this season, missing five at the turn of the year due to injury.
In total, the nine-times Holland international has made 104 appearances for Palace and scored 14 goals, an outstanding return for a full-back.
He was on PSV’s books in his teens before joining Chelsea at the age of 18.
Van Aanholt only played eight times for the London club but proved his calibre during loan spells at Coventry City, Leicester City, Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and Vitesse Arnhem, as well as at Sunderland.
In other Crystal Palace news, it can be REVEALED how the club have tried to sign Norwich City ace this year.
