Top clubs will be queuing up to sign Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri and play him in the number 10 role, according to Michael Brown.
The former Premier League midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes the 28-year-old is still a “real good talent” despite his lack of playing time at Anfield.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, the Reds have given the green light for the Switzerland international to leave this summer after the winger told his agent to find him a new club.
Football Insider have since revealed that Spanish side Sevilla are set to table a formal offer for his capture while Roma and CSKA Moscow are also weighing up moves.
Brown claims that the Swiss flyer will have a long line of suitors wanting to snap him up this summer, insisting he still has plenty to offer in an attacking midfield role.
“I think you look and say it’s a midfield player coming from Liverpool with great ability with what he can bring you,” Brown told Football Insider.
“There will certainly be a home for him. Not sure on fees, expenditure, that’s only going to be what someone’s going to pay for him but there’s a talent there, there’s a real good talent.
“I’m sure there will be lots of takers to go and put him in that number 10 role.”
Shaqiri has played just 10 times for the Reds this season, with just two starts in the Premier League.
The 80-cap star featured more regularly during the 2018/19 campaign, with 30 appearances, five goals and six assists under his belt.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp has told Michael Edwards to seal a deal that is now his ‘number one’ summer priority.
