Sources: Everton legend Duncan Ferguson already fighting for his job at Forest Green Rovers

Everton legend Duncan Ferguson is fighting for his job at Forest Green Rovers after failing to win a match so far, sources have told Football Insider.

The Scot, 51, has been in charge for only seven games but has managed to secure just two points during that time.

Rovers are also rooted to the bottom of League One and look destined to be relegated at the end of the season.

It is believed that Ferguson will likely last until the end of the season but the chances of him being in charge for the next campaign are now seen as low.

His training methods and style of play have been causes for concern with some sources telling us its very “old school” and “out of date”.

The club also had a large outlay in January with the additions of Charlie McCann and Charlie Savage, the latter scoring in the club’s recent defeat to Bristol Rovers.

The board may be forced to act soon in a last bid for survival but the club are already ten points from safety with games running out.

Ferguson is a popular figure in football and his appointment – his first in management – was greeted enthusiastically by Forest Green supporters.

However the Forest Green dream is turning into a nightmare and there is a growing possibility that Ferguson won’t last too much longer.

The former striker has spent most of his coaching career at Everton working under many different managers, although he did have a successful spell in caretaker charge.
