Sol Campbell is not in the running for the Bradford City job despite being the bookmakers’ favourite, Football Insider can reveal.
The 46-year-old is the clear bookmakers’ favourite ahead of Jonathon Woodgate and Paul Hurst, as reported by the Sack Race.
However, an industry source has told Football Insider the England and Arsenal legend has not applied for the vacant post.
Bradford City parted company with Stuart McCall on Sunday after a run of six straight defeats.
The Bantams have won just once in their last eight games across all competitions – against non-league side Tonbridge Angels in the FA Cup first round.
Academy coaches Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars are now in temporary charge and will take the team for tonight’s trip to Crawley Town.
Campbell has been out of work since leaving Southend United in June with the club suffering relegation from League One.
His spell at Roots Hall followed a successful period in charge of cash-strapped Macclesfield Town.
He joined the Silkmen in November 2018 with the club five points adrift in League Two and guided them to safety on the final day.
Bradford are currently one place above the League Two relegation zone and are level on points with Stevenage who are second from bottom.
If the Bantams appoint a manager before the turn of the year it will be their third boss of 2020 after Gary Bowyer and McCall.
