Exclusive: Danny Mills tips Everton senior star to quit after big development
Danny Mills is unsurprised that Morgan Schneiderlin is on his way out of Everton as the midfielder closes in on a return to his native France.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the club are yet to find a replacement for Idrissa Gueye who left last July for Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Nice-Matin, Schneiderlin, 30, is close to signing for Nice after the Ligue 1 club agreed a £1.8million fee, plus bonuses, for the holding midfielder with the Toffees.
The France international has featured just 18 times this campaign and has ultimately failed to impress since his big-money move from Manchester United in 2017.
Football Insider understands that Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been identified as a potential replacement for the departing Frenchman.
When asked by Football Insider if Schneiderlin’s exit is the best for all parties, Mills said: “It did not really happen for him at Manchester United and it did not really change too much since he arrived at Everton.

“You can understand why he is coming to the end of his contract and why they are looking for a replacement.
“They have not replaced Idrissa Gueye yet but Gomes will be coming back. He was rushed back a little bit quickly before lockdown.
“Clubs might be doing two deals this summer. There is not going to be a massive influx of new players coming into football clubs this summer, even at Everton.”
Schneiderlin has one year remaining on his contract at Goodison Park.
The Toffees did sign defensive midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin last summer but he has been blighted by injuries since arriving on Merseyside.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that another defender has been told to find a new club.
