Exclusive: Darren Bent fears Aston Villa star 'Carrying an injury' after recent sighting
Darren Bent admits he is worried over the fitness of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish after his League Cup final performance.
The former Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says the 24-year-old struggled to impose himself on the game, suggesting there could be a slight injury issue.
Dean Smith’s men slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Wembley, on a weekend where they also fell into the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Grealish, who has played the majority of the season on the left-wing, was utilised in a central midfield role but the switch failed to have the desired impact.
Bent was not impressed with what he saw from the Villans’ talisman and questions if he is carrying some sort of problem.
Bent told Football Insider: “Jack looked like he was injured, it was probably his quietest game ever.

“It was one of the most important games for him ever and it was probably his most quiet game. He looked like he was carrying an injury, he didn’t look like the same Jack we’ve seen before.
“He just didn’t look the same.”
Grealish has been a mainstay for Smith this season, scoring nine goals and contributing eight assists in his 30 appearances across all competitions.
Villa, who play Leicester City on Monday night, start the weekend second from bottom in the Premier League table, two points away from safety.
In other Aston Villa news, Alex Bruce has delivered his relegation verdict after a “kick up the backside” for Smith and his men.
