Exclusive: Darren Bent reacts as CL contenders begin Rangers player deep dive

Darren Bent has claimed Leicester City would create bundles of chances for  Alfredo Morelos but warned the Rangers ace he may struggle to even make the team.

The former England forward, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes the Colombian hitman would face a major battle for game time under Brendan Rodgers.

As revealed by Football Insider, the Foxes have set their sights on the 23-year-old ahead of the summer window and have launched a “deep dive” into his character and background.

However, with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho already at Rodgers’ disposal, Bent has urged the Rangers ace to be cautious over leaving Ibrox for the Premier League high flyers.

“Listen, Leicester create a lot of chances but you’ve got to look at the formation and the way that they play,” Bent told Football Insider.

“They’ve got Iheanacho, they’ve got Vardy, he goes there, that’s another one unless they’re going to offload one. A lot of the time they tend to play three so it’s going to be Vardy, Harvey Barnes and Demarai Gray or Albrighton, they tend to play three up top.

“If they’re going to go to a 4-4-2 and there’s two of them, then yeah but I think Vardy never looks comfortable playing in a two, he always looks better playing in a one.

“I know obviously it looks like there’s a chance for Leicester to get into the Champions League so that’s more game time but with Iheanacho there, he’s shown this season that give him game time and play him regularly enough, he’ll score you goals.

“I think for someone like Morelos, who likes to play week in, week out, it’s a great situation with the creativity they’ve got but is he going to get enough minutes out on the pitch to show everyone how good he is?”
