Exclusive: David Moyes tells Everton to sign Evan Ferguson after new twist
David Moyes has told Everton he wants to sign striker Evan Ferguson from Brighton this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old joined West Ham on loan in February but his London Stadium spell has not gone well.
In a new twist, Everton could land Ferguson for a much cheaper fee than initially thought – with his value not increasing at West Ham despite Brighton’s hopes.
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, 22, is also on Moyes’ radar as he looks to improve the Toffees’ striking options for the 2025-26 campaign.
Ferguson is ‘number one choice’ for Moyes
However, it is believed Ferguson is the Scot’s number one choice ahead of an important summer window at Everton.
The Republic of Ireland international has scored one goal in 21 appearances across all competitions this term, but has played just 527 minutes of action.
Appearances (Starts) | 21 (5) |

Ferguson had been regarded as one of Europe’s most promising strikers after his emergence at Brighton but his stock has fallen after struggles with injury.
He has scored 17 goals in 80 games for Brighton but is yet to open his account with West Ham.
Football Insider revealed on 12 April that Everton want to sign two new strikers in the upcoming summer transfer window with Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to leave and Armando Broja returning to Chelsea.

Newcastle set sights on Calvert-Lewin
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last week (10 April) that Newcastle United are “very keen” to sign Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer this summer.
The 28-year-old is one of the Magpies’ top two targets to replace Callum Wilson – who is out of contract in June.
Newcastle have already made contact with Calvert-Lewin’s representatives to register their interest in a deal.
