Exclusive: David Weir closes in on Everton deal after new talks
David Weir is close to rejoining Everton after reigniting talks to join their recruitment team, sources have told Football Insider.
Brighton announced on 12 September that Weir is leaving his post of technical director after seven years at the club.
Weir came close to returning to Everton earlier this year before negotiations fell through.
Now, a deal is back on the table, and there is a growing expectation that a full agreement can be reached between the club and the transfer guru.
Everton have been restructuring their recruitment set-up since the Friedkin takeover and have abandoned the sporting director model in favour of a wide-ranging set-up.
