Exclusive: Doncaster Rovers in advanced talks to sign Tottenham’s Damola Ajayi
Tottenham youngster Damola Ajayi is in advanced talks to join Doncaster Rovers on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Spurs after marking his first-team debut against Elfsborg in the Europa League with a goal in January.
As such, the winger was also on the bench for Tottenham‘s Europa League final success over Man United last month.
A number of EFL clubs have shown an interest in taking Ajayi on loan this summer, but League One new boys Doncaster Rovers are poised to win the race for his signature.
Doncaster set to win Ajayi race
He has racked up more than 80 appearances for Spurs’ Under-18 and Under-21 sides and is now set for his first loan spell as the attacker takes the next step in his development.
Ajayi has made just one nine-minute senior appearance for the Lilywhites but was regularly featured on the bench for Spurs under Ange Postecoglou in the 2024-25 campaign.
The young talent has primarily played as a right winger at youth level but can also star as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder and on the left flank.

2 | Port Vale (P) | 46 | 80 | 19 |
3 | Bradford City (P) | 46 | 78 | 19 |
He is under contract at Spurs until June 2028 after penning a new deal in January of this year.
Doncaster won League Two under Grant McCann in the 2024-25 campaign and will discover their first opponents of the 2025-26 season on Thursday (26 June).

Tottenham make contact over £70m winger deal
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (23 June) that Tottenham have made contact about a potential deal for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
The Cherries have placed a £70million asking price on the 25-year-old’s head and are confident of sealing a swift deal for a replacement if that price tag is met.
Semenyo is a good fit for Thomas Frank‘s all-action style following the Dane’s appointment at Tottenham this month.
