Exclusive: Erik ten Hag is ‘two games from Man United sack’
Man United will sack manager Erik ten Hag if the club lose their next two fixtures against Brentford and Fenerbahce, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the Dutchman, 54, is “clinging on” to his job at Old Trafford after a dismal start in the 2024-25 campaign.
Ten Hag staved off the immediate threat of dismissal with two draws against Porto and Aston Villa before the international break.
However, United sit 14th in the Premier League after seven games – their worst-ever start in the post-1992 era.
He won the FA Cup last term but could only manage an eighth-place finish in the top flight.
Sources say it is “inevitable” Ten Hag will lose his job at Old Trafford if he cannot inspire a turnaround in the next two fixtures.
Ten Hag ‘clinging on’ at Man United before Brentford and Fenerbahce clashes
Brentford lie in wait at home on Saturday (19 October) before a Europa League away trip to Fenerbahce to take on former boss Jose Mourinho in Turkey next week.
United have picked up just two points from a possible six in Europe so far this term.
The Red Devils also suffered embarrassing 3-0 home losses against Tottenham and Liverpool in September.

Ten Hag is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2026 after extending his deal following crunch talks during the off-season.
United will also face West Ham and Leicester City in the League Cup this month.
