Exclusive: Everton lay groundwork for ‘signing blitz within weeks’
Everton have been led to safety by new boss David Moyes and will be looking towards the summer transfer window – The Friedkin Group’s first since buying the club.
The club’s financial report, released on Monday (31 March), showed a loss of £53million but they remain compliant with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Everton have spent meagrely in recent seasons with club chiefs trying to return to profitability amid limited funding from former owner Farhad Moshiri.
The Friedkin Group will provide much-needed funds, while revenue will increase when the Merseysiders move into their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted he expects an “exciting summer” for Moyes’ side.

Everton could make moves in ‘two transfer windows’ this summer
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed Everton could be active in “two transfer windows” – in effect – this summer.
The club’s accounts roll over on 30 June and the Toffees could have leeway to complete deals before the cut-off as well as after, when the slate is wiped clean.
Position | Team | Played | Points | GD |
13 | Man United | 29 | 37 | -4 |
14 | Tottenham | 30 | 34 | 12 |
15 | Everton | 30 | 34 | -5 |
16 | West Ham | 30 | 34 | -17 |
17 | Wolves | 30 | 29 | -17 |
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We’re in compliance with PSR, so I think we’re going to see two transfer windows for Everton – one before 30 June, and one after.
“That is the cut-off for the next set of accounts and budgets for PSR.
“I think it will be an exciting summer.
“The executive team is coming together and we’ve got to believe that the Friedkins have the right vision going forward.”

Everton could land Doak for £30m
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (2 April) that Everton could land Liverpool’s teenage sensation Ben Doak for a fee of £30million this summer.
It is believed a move to the other half of Merseyside would be a surprise – but Toffees boss David Moyes is a big admirer of the 19-year-old.
Doak was the subject of bids from Crystal Palace and interest from Bournemouth in January and Everton could now join the race.
