Exclusive: Everton make Ernest Nuamah summer transfer decision

Everton have made a decision on the possibility of signing Ernest Nuamah in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Merseyside giants could “revisit” potential targets that the club were interested in signing.

Everton had previously been interested in the 21-year-old in the January transfer window, as David Moyes even spoke out publicly about the possible move.

However, the Merseyside giants didn’t push to secure the deal and that could be a sign that the club have moved on from him as a target.

The fact the club didn’t try and sign him in the winter window could be due to Moyes not being completely sure about the player himself.

However, with an extra few months to scout the Ghana international there’s a chance that Moyes might look to return to him as an option.

Everton’s transfer kitty should be boosted in summer

The purse strings were pulled tight at Goodison Park during the January transfer window as the club looks to avoid any potential points deductions due to profit and sustainability rules.

However, Football Insider revealed that Moyes should have more money to spend in the summer to strengthen his squad.

That could allow Moyes to push for Nuamah, although a deal for him could be tough as the right winger is under contract at Lyon until 2028.

David Moyes is pushing a new transfer policy

Football Insider revealed that Moyes is keen on signing young British players to try and bolster his squad and has put a new recruitment focus in place at the club.

Tom Fellows is a player that is falling into that category, as Football Insider reported that the Premier League side are expected to reignite their interest in the West Brom winger during the summer transfer window.

Moyes is currently focused on ensuring the club retains their Premier League status this season, with Everton sat 15th in the table and 10 points above the relegation zone.
