Exclusive: Everton work on ‘huge’ deal to lure Alex Inglethorpe from Liverpool
Everton are working on a deal to lure Liverpool academy chief Alex Inglethorpe to the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 53-year-old is very well regarded by Liverpool and it would be seen as a “huge” coup for Everton if they can agree terms.
Everton have invested heavily in strengthening their leadership structure in recent months, reinforcing their recruitment and technical departments.
However, it would still be seen as a surprise deal if the Merseysiders were able to convince Inglethorpe to make the switch across Merseyside, due to the rivalry between the two clubs.

Everton aim to continue strengthening leadership roles
Back in June, Everton completed an overhaul of the club’s structure, moving away from a director of football model in favour of a more wide-ranging leadership team.
Nick Cox joined from Manchester United to become the Toffees’ new technical director, leaving his position as academy director at Old Trafford.
Everton also brought in James Smith from Manchester City to oversee the scouting and recruitment at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Chris Howarth and Nick Hammond came in to complete the Merseyside club’s new leadership quartet, taking over football strategy and player trading responsibilities respectively.
If Everton can convince Inglethorpe to make the move away from Liverpool, then it will be yet another impressive move from the Toffees, as they continue to strengthen behind the scenes.
Everton eye former Premier League star
Meanwhile, Everton have a “concrete” interest in signing Ivan Toney in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Toney joined Al-Ahli from Brentford for £40million in 2024, but a sensational return to the Premier League is firmly on the cards.
Sources say the 29-year-old believes his best chance of making it into Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad is through a return to English football.
Everton are being seen by the player and his camp as the best fit for the former Brentford man, as he is a classic Moyes player.
