Exclusive: Fulham fail to agree Bright Osayi-Samuel deal after late bid

Fulham saw a late offer for Bright Osayi-Samuel turned down by Fenerbahce on transfer deadline day (3 February), sources have told Football Insider.

The Cottagers targeted a move for the Nigeria international, 27, as they looked to bring in a right-back before the window closed at 11pm.

However, Fenerbahce rejected Fulham‘s late advances for the ex-QPR defender.

Osayi-Samuel is out of contract with the Turkish giants in the off-season and Marco Silva‘s side are now in talks over a potential free transfer swoop.

He can discuss a pre-contract agreement ahead of a potential return to England for the 2025-26 campaign.

The full-back has made 24 appearances across all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side this term.

18 of those outings have come as part of the starting lineup and he has notched one assist for Fenerbahce this term.

Osayi-Samuel left QPR for Turkey in 2021 and he has since become a regular in Istanbul in both league and European competition.

He is also a regular for Nigeria and is likely to play for the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations later this year.

The defender has racked up 18 international caps since making his debut in November 2022.

Fulham are set to complete a free transfer swoop for Willian after Football Insider had previously revealed (23 January) the Brazilian was set to snub offers from Saudi Pro League sides, in favour of a return to the Premier League.
