Exclusive: Gauthier Ganaye in contention for senior Rangers role
Ex-Barnsley and Nice chief Gauthier Ganaye is a contender for the Rangers chief executive role, sources have told Football Insider.
The Glasgow giants are in the market for a new CEO following the dismissal of Patrick Stewart at Ibrox last month.
Frenchman Ganaye, who has also held roles at Lens and Nice, is believed to be in the frame for the vacant position at Rangers.
Sources say the Scottish club are keen to bring in a new CEO before appointing a director of football to replace the recently-sacked Kevin Thelwell.

Ganaye’s football credentials speak volumes
The Frenchman certainly has a rich history of being involved in crucial football matters from his various roles in France, England and Belgium.
The 37-year-old started off at Lens in a director of law role before ascending to secretary general and later director of development.
Ganaye switfly crossed from France to England to become President at Barnsley where he oversaw footballing operations from June 2017 to January 2019.
Returns to France with Nice and As Nancy in President positions as well as high-ranking roles at Belgian sides KV Oostende and RWDM Brussels only add to his decorated CV.
Out-of-work at clubs since May 2024, the Gers will be strongly considering his name in their search for a new CEO.
Rangers contemplate stadium expansion
Amid intense discussions over the long-term vision for the Glaswegian side at board level, plans may be in the works elsewhere at the club.

Sources told Football insider that Rangers could receive a £5million annual windfall if they decide to expand the Ibrox’s capacity.
There is a possibility that Rangers could add 4,000 new seats, increasing the capacity from 51,700 to more than 55,000.
This comes after Celtic blew Rangers away in the latest financial figures from last season, suggesting the blue half of Glasgow are eager to surpass their fierce rivals in stature in the near future.
