Exclusive: Huddersfield Town agree deal to sign Crystal Palace’s Owen Goodman

Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper will undergo a medical this week before completing a loan move.

Huddersfield have beaten a number of EFL clubs to the capture of Goodman after his impressive spell on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season.

The former England Under-20 international was a virtual ever-present for the Dons as they achieved promotion to League One.

Huddersfield set to sign Goodman on loan

Goodman is now set to fight for promotion at the top end of the third tier – with Huddersfield expected to be in the mix in the 2025-26 campaign.

He made 53 appearances across all competitions last season, keeping 25 clean sheets and conceding just 39 goals.

Goodman was named in the League Two Team of the Season and won the division’s Golden Glove after his exploits between the sticks for Wimbledon.

The young goalkeeper has come through the ranks with Crystal Palace and had another loan spell with Colchester United in the 2023-24 campaign.

Lee Nicholls and Jacob Chapman shared goalkeeping responsibilities for Huddersfield in the 2024-25 campaign as the Terriers finished 10th in League One.

Huddersfield see seven-figure Galbraith bid rejected

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (19 June) that Huddersfield have had a £1.5million bid for Leyton Orient ace Ethan Galbraith rejected.

The 24-year-old’s versatility for Orient, featuring mostly at right back and in various midfield roles, has brought him to the attention of a number of clubs, including Huddersfield, Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.

Orient have now rejected offers from all three clubs for the Northern Ireland international.
