Exclusive: Huddersfield Town agree to sign ex-Ipswich star Freddie Ladapo

Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign free agent Freddie Ladapo, sources have told Football Insider.

The striker, 31, is undergoing a medical with the Yorkshire club ahead of his move to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Ladapo left Ipswich by mutual consent at the end of the summer window to pursue a move away from Portman Road – where he had fallen down the pecking order.

He is set for a return to League One with Huddersfield, who were relegated from the Championship last term.

The forward helped Ipswich gain promotion to the Premier League last term.

Ladapo hit two goals in 17 appearances in the Championship for the Tractor Boys in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.

The 31-year-old then went on loan to Charlton in January and notched one goal in 14 appearances for Nathan Jones’ side.

He is an experienced operator at League One level, notching 67 goals and 12 assists in 215 third-tier appearances.

The Romford-born ace has also played for Rotherham, Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Southend and Oldham – among other clubs.
