Exclusive: Huddersfield Town open talks to sign Wolves star Joe Hodge
Huddersfield Town are in talks with Wolves over a loan deal for midfielder Joe Hodge, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old is now back at his parent club for pre-season after spending the second half of last season on loan at QPR.
After scoring once in eight appearances during his stint at Loftus Road, Huddersfield Town are keen on bringing him to west Yorkshire.
Given Wolves’ current financial situation, every penny counts, and a loan move for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international could be a wise move.
Hodge leaving would also free up some funds as Wolves look to bring in Che Adams on a free transfer.
Joe Hodge likely to leave Wolves on loan
Hodge is a versatile midfielder capable of playing anywhere from defensive midfield to a creative number ten, where he spent most of his time playing for QPR.
After starting his career at Man City, Hodge found himself in Wolverhampton after being let go by his boyhood club.

He has since been given his first international call-up, making the squad for the Republic of Ireland’s 1-0 friendly loss against Switzerland in March.
While he is highly regarded at Wolves, the club are said to be willing to let him leave on loan to help his development.
In other news, Bournemouth and Stoke City are both interested in signing Celtic’s young Irish defender.
