Exclusive: Hull City green light January Hugh Parker transfer
Hull City striker Hugh Parker is expected to go out on loan in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The forward, 19, is top goalscorer for the club’s Under-21s side this season with nine goals and seven assists in all competitions.
He has been involved with the Hull first team and was named on the bench for the recent Championship clash with Wrexham.
Sources say a number of EFL clubs are interested in taking Parker on loan in the upcoming window and Hull feel it would aid his development by going out and gaining valuable first-team experience.
Parker joined Hull last February from League of Ireland side UCD.
Hull’s striker depth allows for loan departure
Hull signed Joe Gelhardt on loan from Leeds again in the summer, with the youngster back at the MKM Stadium after enjoying another loan stint there last season.
The 23-year-old has made an impressive start to the campaign and already has 10 goals and two assists to his name from just 19 appearances in the Championship.
Gelhardt has often been used on the right wing by Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic, but he also has the ability to play through the middle as a central striker.
Kyle Joseph and Oli McBurnie have regularly shared the role of leading the line so far this term, and both have had hugely productive starts in front of goal.

The Tigers’ strength in depth at the top of the pitch means that, while Parker has been involved in matchday squads so far this season, the first team have enough cover to facilitate a loan move for the second half of the season.
Hull City already plotting Hugh Parker repeat with UCD starlet
Football Insider recently revealed that Hull are monitoring the progress of UCD starlet Adam Brennan, with a view to potentially making a move for him in January.
The East Yorkshire outfit have a strong relationship with the Irish side, and even invited Brennan over for a trial earlier in the season.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has 13 goal involvements in 28 appearances in the Irish second tier so far this term, and that has attracted attention from plenty of English clubs.
Crystal Palace, Birmingham City and Wrexham are all keeping tabs on the starlet, with Hull keen to secure an immediate repeat of their deal to sign Parker.
The Tigers face heavy competition for this particular gem, but they will be hoping that they can use their strong relationship with UCD to their advantage.
