Exclusive: Hutton drops training ground insight on free agent reportedly offered to Aston Villa
Alan Hutton revealed he is hoping Aston Villa don’t sign attacker Emmanual Adebayor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the ex-Villans defender admitted that he thought the forward could just be looking for a payday.
It was recently reported that Adebayor had been offered to the Villans by the player’s advisers as they hope Dean Smith may be willing to gamble on signing the forward due to his Premier League experience.
The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish side Kayserispor last month.
Hutton revealed that Adebayor previously made it as far as Villa’s training ground when Tim Sherwood tried to sign him for the club in 2015, but the defender noted he didn’t look like he fancied the move.
When asked about Adebayor being offered to Villa, Hutton told Football Insider: “Not for me, not for me no.

“He had a chance, I remember when Tim Sherwood was in charge, 2015? And he tried to bring him in then and he was at the training ground, and just didn’t fancy it.
“He just looked like he didn’t want to be there, so why bring him in now?
“He’s possibly looking for another payday, so not for me, I don’t think he fits the bill for Villa and what they’re trying to achieve.
“There are other options out there that will help them much more, in my opinion, it’s not for me that one.”
Adebayor has played a total of 242 Premier League appearances, scoring 97 goals and registering 44 assists in the division.
The experienced striker has previously played for the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
In other Aston Villa news, it can be revealed that the Villans are plotting to sign a £15million-valued goal machine.
