Exclusive: Ipswich braced for Kieran McKenna approach after source’s reveal
Ipswich Town are preparing to fend off Premier League interest in manager Kieran McKenna this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Tractor Boys look set to drop back to the Championship next month but are ready to stick with their well-liked boss into the 2025-26 campaign.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (14 April) that McKenna remains highly regarded in coaching circles after his efforts with Ipswich this term.
In fact, sources say the Northern Irishman could even be in the frame for Premier League vacancies this summer.
Tottenham are expected to sack Ange Postecoglou if they don’t win the Europa League this season – while Enzo Maresca and Ruben Amorim are under pressure at Chelsea and Man United respectively.
McKenna could interest Premier League clubs this summer
It is believed Ipswich are preparing to resist approaches for McKenna – who led the club to back-to-back promotions from League One to the top flight.
He is under contract until June 2028 after signing a new deal at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Ipswich are not yet officially relegated but are 14 points adrift of 17th-place West Ham with just 18 more points to play for this season.
McKenna’s side face Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton in their next three Premier League fixtures.
Man United & Chelsea lead Everton in Delap race
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last week (10 April) that Everton will struggle to compete with Man United and Chelsea for the signature of Ipswich star Liam Delap.
Delap is under contract at Portman Road until June 2029 but has a relegation release clause in that deal.
He has hit 12 goals and notched two assists in 34 games across all competitions this season.
