Exclusive: Jack Grealish opens up to friends over Everton transfer
Jack Grealish favours a move to Everton over Newcastle United and the foreign clubs chasing him, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old accepts he will have to join a new club next season to secure his place in England’s World Cup squad in the summer of 2026.
Everton and Newcastle have joined Napoli and Saudi clubs in registering an interest in the attacking midfielder.
Sources say Grealish has let it be known to friends that he is “open” to a move to another Premier League club, and is “excited” by Everton’s interest.
The glamour of the club’s new stadium and the possibility of a regular starting role is attractive to the former Aston Villa star, who does not just want to be a squad player at a Champions League club.
Everton would not be able to afford the wages of Grealish, earning £350,000-a-week at City, who would need to part-fund what would need to be a loan deal.
Jack Grealish ‘frozen out’ at Man City
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month (22 May) that Grealish believes he has been frozen out at Man City by manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola handed the winger just 715 minutes of Premier League football last season, across seven starts and 13 substitute appearances.

The England international was not trusted in the Champions League either, starting only four of the Manchester side’s 12 games in the competition.
After City added Rayan Cherki to their ranks, Grealish has fallen even further down the pecking order, and a move away from the Etihad seems to be the only option.
Newcastle informed of new Elanga price tag
Meanwhile, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Newcastle will have to pay £60million to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.
The Magpies tried to bring the winger to St James’ Park last summer, but Forest held firm, and it is expected that they will once again fight hard to keep hold of him.
Newcastle hope that the lure of Champions League football will be enough to tempt Elanga away from the City Ground.
