Exclusive: Jack Wilshere in contention for Norwich City manager job
Norwich City could sack manager Johannes Hoff Thorup and replace him with Jack Wilshere, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say Thorup, 36, is under “big pressure” for his job after a disappointing first season in charge at Carrow Road.
Wilshere was brought in last October as first-team coach at Norwich and is believed to have impressed club chiefs since his arrival.
The former Arsenal midfielder is seen as a strong candidate to take over permanently as manager should Thorup leave the Canaries.
Johannes Hoff Thorup under ‘big pressure’ at Norwich
He retired from football in July 2022 at just 30 following a short-lived spell with Danish side Aarhus.
The ex-England star then took a role managing Arsenal’s Under-18 side before switching to Norwich last year (2024).

Meanwhile, Thorup succeeded David Wagner at Carrow Road last summer following his time with Nordsjaelland.
He has won just 13 of 42 Championship games this term – leaving Norwich 13th in the table and out of playoff contention.
Thorup’s side have won just one of their last eight second-tier games.

Norwich set sights on Arsenal star
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed earlier this month (1 April) that Norwich are very interested in signing Arsenal attacker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji on a free transfer.
Canaries sporting director Ben Knapper is a big fan of the forward after working with him during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Butler-Oyedeji, 22, is out of contract this summer and is yet to sign a new deal – alerting a number of clubs at home and abroad to his potential availability.
