Exclusive: Jarrad Branthwaite agrees £160,000-a-week deal after Man United bid

Jarrard Branthwaite has agreed terms on a £160,000-a-week Man United deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Everton rejected United’s opening bid of £35million plus add-ons, but the Premier League giants are expected to return with an improved offer.

The Merseyside club have set a £70-80million asking price for the 22-year-old, but sources say United’s improved offer won’t be as high as that.

He has nonetheless agreed personal terms on a package that would secure him a “huge” pay hike on his current Everton deal.

The central defender might not have earned an England call-up for the European Championship this summer, but he has become the talk of the transfer world.

The 20-time champions are in the market for a central defender this summer after Raphael Varane departed the club at the end of last season, and Branthwaite is a target.

Man United face competition to sign Branthwaite

Man United aren’t the only top Premier League side chasing after the young Everton defender, as they face competition from their noisy neighbours.

Man City are also interested in signing the England international, and they are willing to spend big this summer to sign him.

However, United do have an alternative option to Branthwaite as Matthijs de Ligt is also a key target this summer, Football Insider revealed.

While United are looking to recruit this summer, they are also open to selling three defensive players during this window.

Football Insider revealed that the club are willing to sell Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka if suitable offers come in.
