Exclusive: Jimmy Thelin to Wolves update from top source
Wolves are highly unlikely to have Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin on their radar to replace Gary O’Neil, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed last week (7 October) that O’Neil has the support of both the Wolves dressing room and hierarchy.
However, results must improve with the Molineux club still without a win and bottom of the Premier League after seven games.
Reports have suggested Thelin, 46, is being tracked by Wolves after his impressive start to life with Aberdeen.
Sources say English clubs are sitting up and taking notice of the Swede but he is unlikely to be poached by a Premier League club at this time.
Aberdeen have won all 13 games under Thelin, who is under contract until 2027, this term and sit second in the Scottish Premiership on goal difference.
Wolves highly unlikely to launch Thelin swoop
It is believed a move south of the border will be inevitable if the Dons can continue their form and secure a top-two finish – an unprecedented achievement in recent years.
Aberdeen face Celtic in their biggest test yet on Saturday (19 October), while they also face the Hoops in the Scottish League Cup semi-final later this month.

Wolves are next in action against Man City on Sunday (20 October) before travelling to Brighton the following week.
O’Neil is under contract at Molineux until June 2028 after signing a new and improved deal earlier this year.
