Exclusive: Ki-Jana Hoever undergoing Sheffield United medical today
Wolves defender Ki-Jana Hoever is undergoing a medical at Sheffield United today ahead of a loan move, sources have told Football Insider.
Hoever, 23, has been on the fringes of Rob Edwards‘ squad this season and was left out of their 1-1 draw against Everton as he closes in on an exit.
The full-back’s contract is set to expire in the summer, but he will leave on an initial loan move before his future is assessed once more come the end of the season.
Chris Wilder‘s side have moved ahead of rivals for his signature and the deal will now be completed should he pass medical checks at Bramall Lane.
Hoever spent last season with Ligue 1 outfit Auxerre where he proved to be a valuable asset, and has previous experience in the Championship with Stoke.

Sheffield United close in on Ki-Jana Hoever deal
Wilder has been determined to strengthen his side with new additions this month as they continue their push up the table, as they are now nine points short of the playoff places.
Hoever has emerged as a key target given their concerns about depth at right-back, while he is also versatile and capable of playing across the back line.
The Blades have been long-term admirers of the Wolves defender, as Football Insider first revealed in July 2024 that Sheffield United were keen to sign Hoever.
It now looks likely they will finally land their man barring any late hiccups.
Meanwhile, Wolves are also keen to sign a right-back, which would see Hoever pushed down the pecking order amid what has been a nightmare season at Molineux.
Patrick Bamford update emerges at Bramall Lane
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 2 January that Sheffield United were in talks with Patrick Bamford to extend his short-term stay at Bramall Lane.
However, they could now be set to miss out when he leaves the club for free, as Ipswich Town have emerged as key contenders for his signature.

Most recently, Football Insider revealed on 8 January that Bamford is expected to accept United’s offer as they look likely to beat their rivals to the deal.
Sources say Bamford is likely to remain loyal to manager Wilder, who took a gamble on bringing him in, and stay at Bramall Lane until at least the end of the season.
The Blades’ boss is keen to keep Bamford beyond the end of his short-term contract, which is currently set to expire after their FA Cup clash with Mansfield on 11 January.
