Exclusive: Leeds raid Man United as deal agreed for rising star

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign starlet Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher from arch-rivals Manchester United in a permanent deal, sources have told Football Insider.

Ibrovic-Fletcher, 17, signed scholarship terms at Man United last year, but now looks set to move on to join Leeds’ academy set-up.

An attacking midfielder by trade, he has featured in a number of Red Devils’ youth sides over the years, more recently in their Under-18s under Darren Fletcher before he was promoted to interim first-team duties.

He has played seven games in the Under-18 Premier League for United this season, with two starts, but his last appearance came in November and he is now due to move on permanently.

Leeds set to sign Ibrovic-Fletcher in permanent move

Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds had registered their interest in Ibrovic-Fletcher ahead of a possible approach for his signature.

United were believed to be open to letting him leave, and the Whites have now been able to come to an agreement that will see him join their youth set-up.

Ibrovic-Fletcher was born in Leeds and has represented Serbia’s youth teams at international level, debuting for their Under-19s last September.

Man United have had numerous big-name stars emerge from their academy over the years, and the 17-year-old will hope that he is another who can do so, as he moves to Elland Road with hopes of breaking into their first-team.

Gabriele Biancheri is also set to leave Man United soon

Another of the Red Devils’ young talents could follow Ibrovic-Fletcher out of the club in the days to come.

Sources have told Football Insider that young United striker Biancheri is set to join Rotherham on loan, after the League One side beat off competition from Real Betis for his signature.

The highly-rated 19-year-old has registered five goals and four assists in 11 Premier League 2 appearances for United’s Under-21s this season.

Biancheri looked set to leave Old Trafford last summer, but he is now set to depart for a first taste of senior football to join the Millers as they aim to avoid relegation to the fourth-tier.
