
Exclusive: Leicester City close to agreeing Kasey McAteer deal
Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract, sources have told Football Insider.
Talks are at an advanced stage between the 22-year-old and the Premier League new boys over a new deal.
McAteer, who has come through the ranks at Leicester, is in the final year of his current deal and the club are keen to extend it.
He played a key role in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League last season, scoring six goals in 23 league appearances as they secured the Championship title.
This season will mark his first time experiencing regular football in the English top flight.
McAteer has previously played in the Premier League, but it was only a two-minute cameo from the bench.

McAteer earned his way into the Leicester City side after thriving in the Foxes youth system and impressive during various loan spells.
The versatile winger who is capable of playing on either flank has made 42 appearances in the Premier League 2 division, scoring nine times and producing four assists.
After a breakout season during the 2023-24 campaign, the Foxes are now looking to secure his long-term future at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City are also attempting to add more quality to Steve Cooper’s ranks before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
