Exclusive: Leicester City get PSR boost after £90m reveal
Leicester City have received a financial boost as a £90million loss has dropped out of their profit and sustainability (PSR) calculations, sources have told Football Insider.
The Foxes have faced various PSR issues over the past couple of seasons after struggling to get on top of their financial situation at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester were initially charged by the Premier League in March 2024 with a spending breach after reporting losses of £90million for 2022-23.
However, it has been confirmed they will not face any punishment for their 2022-23 breach after exploiting a loophole in the rules.
Under the PSR regulations, Premier League sides are only permitted to lose £105million over a rolling three-year period, with the figure dropping from £35million a season in the top flight to £13million in the Championship.
Leicester will now face no further PSR issues as a result of their £90million loss for 2022-23 from 1 July onwards after it has dropped out of their three-year calculation.

It was revealed in May The Foxes have been charged with an alleged breach of the EFL’s financial rules for 2023-24 when they secured promotion back to the Premier League.
The club have been referred to an independent commission, leaving them facing a potential points deduction following their relegation to the Championship.
Leicester’s turnover fell from £177million in 2022-23 to £105million in 2023-24, while their losses dropped from £90million to £19million across the same period.

Everton ready move to sign Leicester City star
In terms of a potential exit at the King Power, recruitment expert Mick Brown told Football Insider Everton are planning to reignite their interest in Wilfred Ndidi.
The 28-year-old midfielder is believed to have a £9million release clause in his Leicester contract, with several top clubs across Europe monitoring his situation.
Everton are now prepared to rival clubs to sign Ndidi after missing out on securing his signature last summer.
