Exclusive: Leicester City turn attention to signing Tariq Lamptey

Leicester are plotting a move for Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey, sources have told Football Insider.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side are looking to bolster their defensive options before the close of the transfer window on 3 February.

Lamptey, 24, is in the final six months of his contract at Brighton and Leicester are hoping they can persuade the Seagulls to cash in on the Ghana international.

He joined the south coast club from Chelsea five years ago but has featured sparingly for Fabian Hurzeler’s side this term.

Lamptey has made 12 appearances across all competitions for Brighton this term, starting in seven of those outings.

The full-back has featured on the left and right side of the defence, scoring three goals and notching two assists.
