
Exclusive: Liverpool and Man United in race to sign ‘next Carlos Baleba’ for £20m
Man United and Liverpool are tracking Stade de Reims midfielder Amadou Kone, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is valued in the £20million bracket by his club after a stellar campaign in France this season.
Ivory Coast Under-23 international Kone has been likened to Brighton’s Carlos Baleba for his style of play.
The young midfielder he has the second highest percentage of duels won across Europe this season for players under the age of 21.
Ligue 1 star Kone wanted by Liverpool and Man United
Kone has made 24 senior appearances across all competitions for Reims, who sit five points above relegation danger in Ligue 1 this term.
He has started in 16 of those outings after making his first-team breakthrough last season.

The Mali-born star, who turns 20 in May, is under contract at Reims until June 2028 after joining the club almost two years ago.
Meanwhile, Brighton star Baleba, 21, joined the Seagulls from Ligue 1 side Lille in 2023 and is now one of the Premier League‘s most promising midfielders.
Left-footed star Kone could follow in the Cameroon international’s footsteps should he make a move to England this summer.
