Exclusive: Liverpool chief scout watches £35m star in Fulham-Wolves clash

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Fulham winger Kevin as they assess potential forward signings, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseyside giants’ chief scout Barry Hunter was in attendance at Craven Cottage on Saturday as Marco Silva’s side beat Wolves 3-0.

Sources say that Hunter was there to watch Kevin on his full Premier League debut for the Cottagers.

The 22-year-old completed a deadline day move to Fulham from Shakhtar Donetsk, for a club record £34.6million.

Liverpool’s recruitment team impressed by Kevin as full stats revealed

Sources say that the Liverpool recruitment team has been struck by Kevin’s displays since joining from Shakhtar.

They have been impressed with his dribbling and ability to carry the ball forward, as well as the fact that he is able to play on both the left and right wing.

Kevin was superb once again in Fulham’s comfortable victory over Wolves, completing the most take-ons (5) and having the most touches in the opposition box (5) for the home side.

The winger grabbed an assist in midweek, as the Cottagers beat Wycombe on penalties in the Carabao Cup, and will now expect to hold his spot in the starting XI.

Ibrahima Konate could be leaving Liverpool

Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate has rejected a new Liverpool contract and is moving closer to an exit from the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old’s future on Merseyside is in doubt as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Talks over an extension to the centre-back’s contract have not progressed, and there is now a growing expectation that he will leave in the summer.

Konate has been linked to Real Madrid in recent months, and that interest is believed by sources to be “concrete”.
