Exclusive: Liverpool make Wataru Endo transfer decision
Liverpool are very unlikely to allow Wataru Endo to leave the club before the transfer deadline next month, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been widely reported that the Reds have rejected a bid of almost £12million for the 31-year-old from Ligue 1 side Marseille – an offer which is believed to have been submitted weeks ago.
Endo was a surprise package for Liverpool last term following his arrival from Stuttgart 12 months ago.
Sources say Marseille’s bid comes nowhere near the Reds’ valuation of the Japan international.
In any case, it is believed Liverpool and manager Arne Slot are unwilling to weaken their midfield by allowing Endo to depart.
The reported £12million offer is below the £16.2million the Reds paid to land the midfield star last summer (2023).
Liverpool ‘very unlikely’ to accept Endo bids
Endo was a key man for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 2023-24 campaign, making 43 appearances across all competitions – starting in 34 of those outings.
He made four appearances in the League Cup as Klopp’s side won the trophy with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in February.
His contract at Anfield is set to run until June 2027.

Liverpool allowed Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian to leave at the end of their contracts last month – while Calvin Ramsey has joined Wigan on loan.
The Reds kick off the Slot era with his first competitive fixture against Ipswich on 17 August.
