Exclusive: Liverpool set for showdown Luis Diaz talks
Liverpool are set to hold showdown talks with Luis Diaz about his long-term future at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Barcelona and a number of Saudi Pro League clubs have been keeping an eye on the 28-year-old’s situation.
The Reds have held talks over a potential new contract for the winger but have so far failed to reach an agreement as their main focus was on finalising new deals for Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
Now, with interest in Diaz’s signature ramping up, Liverpool are considering allowing the winger to leave in a bid to raise funds for reinvestment.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Liverpool will listen to £60million offers for Diaz, which would represent profit on the £50million spent to sign him in 2022.
So far this season, Diaz has been a regular in Slot’s team with 45 appearances, 15 goals and eight assists across all competitions, but they now feel they could upgrade in his position.

Liverpool plan attacking overhaul after Luis Diaz latest
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez could leave Liverpool this summer.
The trio are no longer regarded as mainstays in their first-team plans and Slot is keen to upgrade in attacking areas if possible this summer.
A potential attacking overhaul is being eyed at Anfield as the boss aims to stamp his mark on the team following a successful first season as they close in on the Premier League title.
Despite that success, Liverpool have been quiet in both transfer windows under Slot, and are now prepared to back the manager this summer.
However, it remains possible that Diaz stays at Anfield beyond the end of the season if they can reach an agreement in talks about his future.

Arne Slot plots Jamie Gittens swoop to replace Luis Diaz
Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool will accept offers for Diaz if they can find a replacement in the summer transfer market.
As a result, they have been considering a number of alternatives in the wide areas, and have identified a number of potential targets ahead of the summer window.
Brown told Football Insider on 16 April that Liverpool want to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and have been keeping a close eye on his situation.
Slot’s side are now prepared to beat rivals to his signature as the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been keeping tabs on his progress.
