Exclusive: Liverpool work on multiple deals, three first-XI signings expected

Liverpool are actively working behind the scenes on multiple deals after a quiet start to the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The window opened on 14 June but the Reds are yet to make their first signing of the Arne Slot era.

Liverpool have no concerns over complying with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and do not need to offload players in the summer window.

It is believed Slot, alongside new transfer chiefs Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards, are satisfied with the current state of their squad.

As such, the club are unwilling to rush into any deals if the right player does not become available.

Nevertheless, sources say Liverpool are working on signings behind the scenes at Anfield as the first-team squad prepare to return for pre-season training this month.

It is believed the Reds are only planning three signings capable of fitting into the first-choice starting eleven.

Liverpool want three top-class signings this summer

Slot has arrived at Liverpool from Feyenoord and started work on Merseyside last month.

He will speak to the media as Reds boss for the first time on Friday (5 July).

Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian have been released at the end of their contracts, while right-back Calvin Ramsey has already joined Wigan on loan.

Football Insider revealed last week (25 June) that Liverpool are continuing contact with the representatives of Lille defender Leny Yoro.

It is believed central defence is a key position for the new regime at Anfield as they vie to better last season’s third-place finish in the 2024-25 campaign.
