Exclusive: Liverpool work on sensational late deal for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Liverpool are plotting a sensational late-window move for long-term target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseyside giants have been in the market for a wide forward all transfer window and are keen to make a marquee signing this summer after missing out on multiple top targets.

Georgia international Kvaratskhelia, 23, has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time amid doubts over his future at Napoli.

However, Liverpool face a major battle to try and prise the Serie A superstar out of Napoli in the next week.

The winger has three years to run on his deal at the Diego Maradona Stadium and is valued at more than £70 million by his club.

Liverpool want long-term target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Kvaratskhelia was a rare bright spark in Napoli’s calamitous Serie A title defence last season, starting 42 games, scoring 11 goals, and providing nine assists.

The Georgian then played a pivotal role in his country’s Euro 2024 campaign, helping them reach the round of 16 in their first-ever major international tournament.

Liverpool are yet to sign a single player under new manager Arne Slot but look set to complete a deal for fellow Georgian, Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Football Insider revealed (August 21) that The Merseysiders have an agreement in principle to sign Mamardashvili from Spanish club Valencia.
