Manchester City forward Luke Bolton is in advanced talks to join Wycombe Wanderers, Football Insider understands.
Bolton, who has come through the ranks at City, agreed a new three-and-a-half year deal at the Etihad earlier this month and the club feel a loan move is the next stage in his development.
The versatile forward has yet to make his first-team debut for Pep Guardiola’s side, but he was on the bench for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg game against Burton.
A number of Football League clubs have enquired about taking Bolton for the rest of the season, but League One Wycombe have moved quickly as they finalise a deal with City for Bolton.
City feel a loan move is the next stage in Bolton’s development so that he can valuable first-team experience under his belt before returning to challenge for a spot in the City first-team squad next season.
Bolton, who has represented England at various youth levels, helped England win the prestigious Toulon tournament in the summer of 2017.
