Exclusive: Man City lay groundwork for huge new signing spree amid Pep Guardiola latest
Manchester City will provide significant funds for summer signings regardless of who is in charge next term, sources have told Football Insider.
There is a growing feeling that Pep Guardiola could walk away from City at the end of the season, and the Etihad Stadium outfit are prepared to supply a potential new boss with plenty of resources to work with.
The Citizens splashed out £85million on Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi in January, while the likes of Tijani Reinders and Rayan Cherki arrived for big money last summer.
The Premier League giants have worked to try to balance their net spend somewhat in recent years, and sources say that their commercial success will allow them to splash the cash once again this summer.

Man City still in the dark over Pep Guardiola’s future
Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson recently told Football Insider that his former club are still in the dark over Guardiola’s future as we near the end of the campaign.
Borson revealed that the club hierarchy are still unaware as to whether the Spaniard has made a decision either way over his future, although he did acknowledge that there have been several signs to suggest that he might be plotting an exit.
The all-conquering boss is due to enter the final year of his contract in the summer, and that has already seen the board begin to explore potential options to replace him in the background.
Guardiola’s final decision regarding his future is expected to come in the final stages of the season, although Borson has suggested that he could be slightly reluctant to turn his back on the club if the campaign ends in disappointing fashion.

Plans for next season are having to incorporate the possibilities of working both with and without the 55-year-old, but money is set to flow regardless.
Vincent Kompany could be set to return to the Etihad
Football Insider revealed last week that Vincent Kompany is City’s number one target to replace Guardiola if he ultimately decides to leave this summer.
The Belgian is on course to lead Bayern Munich to another Bundesliga title this season, but could then turn his back on them to return to the place where he made over 350 appearances during his playing career.
The likes of Xabi Alonso and Enzo Maresca are also admired by the City board, but Kompany is their preferred option at this stage.
There is an acceptance that luring Kompany away from the Allianz Arena will be a hugely difficult task, but City are hoping to use his emotional attachment to the club in their favour.
