Exclusive: Man City ready shock Leroy Sane swoop after talks latest
Man City are among a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Leroy Sane’s situation at Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.
Pep Guardiola is keen to strengthen his squad both in midfield and attack in the January transfer window.
Sane will be in hot property this month with City joined by Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the race for his signature.
The 28-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract at Bayern Munich and can now agree a pre-contract.
However, Premier League clubs are keen to bring him back to England this month with talks over a new deal in Bavaria not progressing.
Sane returning to City would be a shock after he was sold to Bayern for a reported fee of around £55million in 2020.
He has made 19 appearances across all competitions this term, notching five goals and one assist.

The winger has started in just seven of his 17 games in the Bundesliga and Champions League under Vincent Kompany in the 2024-25 campaign.
Sane won two Premier League titles and the FA Cup during his four-year spell with City between 2016 and 2020.
He scored 39 goals and registered 43 assists in 135 games for Pep Guardiola’s side.

City sit sixth in the Premier League after beating West Ham 4-1 at home on Saturday (4 January).
The English champions currently sit 22nd in the Champions League standings ahead of the final two group games this month.
