Exclusive: Man City’s Kian Breckin agrees to join Crewe

Man City midfielder Kian Breckin has agreed to join Crewe Alexandra, sources have told Football Insider.

The League Two club are putting the final touches on a loan move for the central midfielder before the 31st August cut-off.

City believes that another loan move for the central midfielder is ideal for the next stage of his development.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at League One side Wycombe Wanderers to gain more first-team experience.

Breckin only made two appearances in League One during that spell but featured seven times across various cup competitions.

The midfielder also played eight times in the Premier League 2 division for Man City, where he provided two assists.

Crewe will aim to develop Kian Breckin next season

Crewe will have the chance to develop Breckin by giving him time on the pitch, which is what the midfielder needs for the next stage of his career.

Breckin has impressed within Man City’s youth teams, having made 35 appearances in the Under-18s Premier League where he scored five goals.

The midfielder has also had no problem finding the back of the net in the Premier League 2 either, where he’s scored eight times across 36 appearances.

Man City

While Breckin is being sent out on loan to gain more experience, Man City will be looking to keep James McAtee this season.

Football Insider revealed that the 21-year-old striker has “really impressed” during pre-season, which is why Pep Guardiola is ready to give him a chance.
