Man United eye striker signing amid Joshua Zirkzee exit latest
Manchester United will not let Joshua Zirkzee leave without bringing in a replacement in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Zirkzee has been linked with an Old Trafford departure in recent times and has made just four Premier League appearances for Ruben Amorim’s side this season.
However, sources say that Man United would only offload the Dutchman if they are able to sign a striker when the window reopens, to ensure they have enough depth.
With Benjamin Sesko’s fitness in doubt, and Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo off to the African Cup of Nations in December, the Red Devils don’t want to be left short up front.

Joshua Zirkzee closes in on Italy move
Roma have emerged as the frontrunners to land Zirkzee, and they could land the forward on an initial loan deal.
Rather than pay the full fee upfront, the Italian side would rather take the Dutch international on a temporary basis with an option to buy included in the agreement.
Zirkzee has also been linked with former club Bologna, who sit fifth in Serie A as it stands, just three points behind Roma.
In the season before his move to Man United, the 24-year-old scored 11 goals and picked up four assists in the league for Bologna, so he has a good reputation over in Italy.
Man United assess midfielder options
Meanwhile, Man United are assessing a number of big-name midfielders as they aim to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.
The likes of Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba are all on Amorim’s shortlist.

However, the Red Devils are unlikely to be able to land their top targets in the mid-season window.
Instead, they could be made to wait until the summer to make a move and get a deal over the line.
