Exclusive: Man United in race to sign Leicester City talent, deal may be done soon
Man United have joined the race to sign Leicester City rising star Dennis Gyamfi this summer, Football Insider has learned.
The 20-times league champions are closely monitoring the situation of the right-back, 18, ahead of his Foxes contract expiring next month.
A United source has told Football Insider that the club are aware that Gyamfi will soon be available as a free agent and his future is likely to be sorted in the coming weeks.
Football Insider revealed yesterday that Arsenal have set their sights on Gyamfi as they plot a deal in the coming weeks.
There is also interest in the young full-back from Dutch big hitters Feyenoord as well as from German clubs.
Gyamfi is currently on a scholarship contract and Leicester would be due a compensation fee for his development costs.

He has yet to play for the first team but has been capped by Holland at Under-19 level and caught the eye of top clubs with his performances for the Foxes youth teams.
He has played predominantly for Leicester Under-18s – 27 times in total – and made his Under-23 debut in Premier League 2 in January.
Gyamfi’s path to the Leicester first team is blocked by Ricardo Pereira, widely regarded as one of the outstanding right-backs in the Premier League, and 2019 arrival James Justin, who joined from Luton Town last summer for £8million.
United have stepped up their scouting operations in recent years, with the club prepared to spend heavily on young players in a bid to avoid major fees in the future.
The Hugill deal comes a year after the £9million signing of Hannibal Mejbri, who only turned 17 in January.
