Exclusive: Man United plan to agree Amad Diallo deal

Man United are planning to hand Amad Diallo a new contract after his first-team breakthrough, sources have told Football Insider.

Diallo’s current deal is up at the end of the season but United have the option to extend it a further 12 months.

The Ivory Coast international, 22, is finally living up to his huge reported £37million price tag after establishing himself as a regular following his recent rapid development.

Sources say that if Diallo can maintain his current form, talks will open over a big-money, long-term new deal.

But there is no massive panic and United will activate his 12-month extension clause if necessary to prevent clubs from swooping for the winger.

The left-footer is enjoying a breakout season at Old Trafford, notching one goal and one assist in five appearances this season – four of which have come as a starter.

Diallo is currently keeping star winger Alejandro Garnacho out of Ten Hag’s lineup.
