Exclusive: Middlesbrough working on deal to sign Ranford Konigsdorffer

Middlesbrough are working on a deal to sign Hamburg forward Ranford Konigsdorffer before the window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

Boro are keen to bolster their attacking options before Monday’s deadline as they look to strengthen their bid for promotion to the Premier League.

Ghana international Konigsdorffer has emerged on their radar after catching the eye with his displays for Hamburg in the Bundesliga this season.

The 24-year-old is in the final six months of his contract with the German club, and Boro feel they might be able to land the versatile forward for a cut-price fee.

Middlesbrough set sights on Ranford Konigsdorffer

Konigsdorffer has scored two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, with his displays catching the eye of watching scouts.

The forward is capable of playing anywhere across the front line and that is seen as a valuable asset for Middlesbrough as they aim to bolster their squad.

Kim Hellberg‘s side have risen to second place in the Championship table, closing the gap to just three points on league leaders Coventry City.

There is a growing feeling that this will be their best chance to win promotion in years, and the right signings this month will bolster their chances.

Konigsdorffer is being targeted to reinforce their attacking options following the arrival of Jeremy Sarmiento from Brighton earlier this month.

Middlesbrough join Wolves in race to sign Lassine Sinayoko

Boro are hoping for a busy end to the mid-season transfer window, with a number of attacking reinforcements on their radar in the closing stages.

Football Insider revealed on 27 January that Middlesbrough want to sign Lassine Sinayoko, and have joined the likes of Wolves and Coventry in the race for his signature.

Sinayoko impressed at last month’s Africa Cup of Nations, scoring three goals for Mali as they reached the quarter-finals before losing to eventual winners Senegal.

The 26-year-old has also caught the eye for Auxerre in Ligue 1 with six goals and two assists in 18 appearances, bringing him onto the radar of a number of clubs across Europe.

Sinayoko extended his contract until 2027 last week, but he is potentially available for around £8million this month.
