Exclusive: Morgan Rogers will now earn the same as Aston Villa teammate whose superior deal led to discontent
Morgan Rogers is set to earn £120,000 per week after agreeing a new deal with Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.
Rogers has agreed a contract extension with the Midlands giants that will run until the summer of 2031.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 26 September that Aston Villa had opened talks with Rogers over a new deal.
It comes following a summer of rumours linking the England international with top clubs in the Premier League, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal.

Aston Villa quell Morgan Rogers’ unhappiness with new deal
Before agreeing a new deal, Rogers was not among the highest-paid senior players at Aston Villa, which led to frustrations over the summer.
Sources say that the midfielder was particularly upset that Donyell Malen was earning more than double what he was.
However, with this new wage hike, Rogers will be on £120,000 per week at Villa Park, which brings him up to the same level as Malen.
Unai Emery will hope that the contract extension solves any unhappiness that the 23-year-old had and quells rumours of a January move away.
Aston Villa eye Ollie Watkins replacement
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly planning to sign a top-class striker in the January transfer window.

That is according to former Villa and Man United senior scout Mick Brown, who claims that landing a new forward has now become a priority for Emery.
It comes after Brown told Football Insider on 30 September that Aston Villa are concerned about Watkins’ form following a difficult start to the season for the England international.
Emery’s side were heavily linked with moves for the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the summer as they eyed numerous forward targets.
